Harvest Table Food Pantry
The Harvest Table Food Pantry provides food assistance to eligible individuals and families in our service area who are experiencing food insecurity or temporary financial hardship. Through the distribution of food bags and essential grocery items, the program helps supplement household food supplies and support basic nutritional needs.
Loaves & Fishes of the Rio Grande Valley works in partnership with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, as well as local businesses, community organizations, faith communities, and individual donors whose generosity helps make this program possible. These partnerships allow us to provide food assistance to those in need while maximizing available community resources.
Food distributions are conducted from our Harlingen location on designated days and are available to approved applicants who meet program requirements. Individuals seeking assistance must complete an application process and provide any required documentation. Assistance is subject to program guidelines, eligibility requirements, and product availability.
Food bags may include a variety of nonperishable items such as canned vegetables, fruits, proteins, pasta, rice, beans, cereal, and other staple food products. Depending on availability, additional items such as fresh produce, bread, and other nutritious foods may also be included.
The Harvest Table Food Pantry is committed to serving our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and respect while helping ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious food during times of need.
Applicants seeking assistance through the Harvest Table Food Pantry must complete the registration process and provide required identification and supporting documentation. Eligible households may receive food assistance up to twice per month, subject to program guidelines and food availability. Applicants are required to renew their application annually to maintain program eligibility.
Community support plays a vital role in the success of the Harvest Table Food Pantry. Throughout the year, Loaves & Fishes participates in food drives and receives generous donations from local businesses, schools, churches, civic organizations, and community members. These contributions help us maintain a reliable supply of food and extend assistance to more individuals and families in need.
During times of natural disasters, community emergencies, or other crises, Loaves & Fishes works closely with local leaders, emergency response partners, and community organizations to help coordinate food assistance and support services for affected individuals and families. Through these collaborative efforts, we strive to respond quickly and compassionately when our community needs assistance the most.
We distribute approximately 80 food bags a month to families experiencing food insecurity.
