Since 1991, the Bread of Life Dining Hall has been an integral part of the community. For many families and individuals, this is the only opportunity to receive a hot meal during the day.
Meals are always free and are served five days a week at both our Harlingen and Raymondville locations. The dining hall offers a variety of good nutritious food, focused on serving both children and adults.
The Rio Grande Valley Food Bank, sponsored food drives, and food donations provide the food to serve our clients. In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dining Hall served 141,695 meals in 2020. The meal count continues to grow every day.
Everybody is welcome to join us for a free meal!
We keep a very high standard in our kitchen operation. Federal and state rules and procedures are always followed. Community service volunteers have the opportunity to work in our kitchens and gain experience in food service.
We appreciate when individuals, church groups, and community organizations volunteer in our kitchen. It gives us an opportunity to better serve our clients. Many people from outside of our area have come to eat.
