2019 is turning out to be a consequential year for Loaves & Fishes.
Most of our friends and supporters know that we have been blessed to offer assistance to more than 1,300 migrants in the past couple of months. It is hard work, but we have managed. I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of our staff. Many long hours and weekends of work without a single complaint.
Our new Grant for the Benefit of Homeless Individuals has helped us offer counseling to our homeless shelter clients. We’ll be able to do a better job of lifting people from homelessness.
We’re moving forward in Raymondville with new offices and stronger relationships in that community. We offer every service in Raymondville that we offer in Harlingen, except for shelter.
We have also been blessed to update our facility. We have new kitchen equipment, new lighting fixtures (LED), roof repairs and a new copier. The lobby has a new coat of paint. The building is in good shape.
