Frances and Gracie are two courageous and dedicated young women.

Like all of us at Loaves & Fishes, they wear many hats. Both ladies serve in the Bread of Life Dining Hall and help us serve in Raymondville. Gracie is also a shelter attendant.

These young ladies brave the summer heat and the winter cold to bring Help & Hope to the people in our community who are experiencing homelessness.

Four days a week Frances and Gracie take our little Ford Ranger pick up out to the community to look for homeless people. They pass out hygiene kits and water and offer the services of our shelter.

This is hard work. Many of the people they meet are reluctant to come into the shelter. It may take several visits to earn enough trust for people to consider the shelter.

When they come in there is a lot we can do to help. The Open Arms Homeless Shelter is a clean, safe, cool place to stay. Our case workers are able to help our clients find a place to live, and if eligible to receive government assistance. Our New Hope Job Shop helps clients return to the job force.
