Sandra Cantu is our Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). She has over 28 years experience in the medical field. As our staffed nursing professional, she has many responsibilities. Some of her duties include blood pressure checks, diet education instruction, laboratory draws, and wound cares (dressing changes).

As part of the Homeless Shelter Intake process, a routine physical is performed by Sandra and services by Licensed Professional Counselors are offered.

Prescriptions can be refilled but certain details apply. Each medication has its own set of guidelines. This program is offered to those who are not able to afford their prescribed medication. A case manager will discuss your application and your eligibility.

Services available Monday to Friday in Harlingen and Wednesday afternoons in Raymondville.

The Great Physician Healthy Living Events are an opportunity for Loaves and Fishes to help clients find out more about the latest medical assistance and durable medical goods available in our area. Many medical offices and insurance companies have the opportunity to display and exhibit in our Bread of Life Dining Hall. A representative, presenting in our dining hall, is allowed to hand out literature; offering their products and services. By outlining their services, our clients will have a better understanding of their medical needs.

Life skills classes are offered to our shelter residents and community. The classes focus on daily living skills, personal finances, and specific job competencies.
